The Council has already approved a recent Reconciliation Plan which will introduce a truth telling component.
Check it out here:
We are all for reconciliation.
However, is the council going about this in the right way? Have we had any real resident consultation and feedback about this? Did you know that there are only about 2500 indigenous people living in Wyndham with a population of over 300,000? That is less than 1% of the population.
Did you know that Council gave to the local Registered Aboriginal Corporation $300,000 of rate payers money in cash last year and we still do not know how it was spent? Now, this Bunurong Land Council is under special administration as money has allegedly gone missing. We have 2 main Registered Aboriginal Corporations in Wyndham and between them they are given at least 16 million dollars a year.

We have a right to have more of say in how rate payers money is spent. After all, it is our money.
WHY AREN'T THEY LISTENING TO THE RESIDENTS?
